To appreciate the untiring commitment and in remembering the notable contributions of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan for the teaching profession, Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology and VIVA, the school by VVIT observed Teachers' Day virtually and physically on a grand scale at VVIT Central Block on 05.09.2020.
Prof. K. Subba Rangaiah, Veda IIT and Sri PSR Kotaiah, Korukonda Sainik School attended as Special Guests virtually on this occasion. The prestigious programme was started with paying floral tributes to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Sri V.Vidya Sagar, Chairman, VIVA- VVIT in his speech appreciated the efforts of the teachers during COVID 19 pandemic time. “The initiation taken by the teachers in moulding the studetns is commendable. Teachers are one and only to set the sutduetns in a right way during these tough times”, he added. He also congratulated Dr Alla Srivani, Associate Professor in Physics for bagging the prestigious BEST TEACHER 2020 award from NFED organization.
Sri T. Joshi, Principal VIVA addressed the gathering and envisaged that students should follow the teachers to reach greater heights in their lives. Dr. Y. Mallikarjuna Reddy, Principal VVIT opined that students’ success with discipline would give real happiness to the teachers.
The Guest addressed the audience in a virtual mode by remembering Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan life events. He recollected the significance of the day and the role of the teacher. “We are all students of our teachers. We must remember our teachers,” he added. He explained the reasons why Bala Gangadhara Tilak and Kabir selected the teaching profession. He also rendered the Sanskrit slokas highlighting the role of Guru and mesmerized the audience. He remembered the commitment of Dronacharya from the ancient holy books. He stressed the importance of Ekalavya, the favourite disciple of Drona and stressed the need of focus. He thanked commended the management of VVIT for giving this opportunity on this memorable day.
The programme ended with blessings for the both students of VIVA-VVIT by the respective teachers to mark the event.traditionally.
