Dr. Yennapusa Mallikarjuna Reddy  born on 1st JUNE  1965, obtained his B.E degree in Electronics & Communications  from Osmania, University  Hyderabad  in 1987, and Master ’s degree in ECE (Instrumentation &  Control Systems) from JNTU, Kakinada in 1990 and Ph.D  in Radar Signal and Image Processing  from Osmania, University  Hyderabad  Mar 2009. He has a professional teaching experience of 31 years.

Dr. Mallikarjuna Reddy is an active researcher in the areas like Digital Signal Processing, Radar Image Processing, Speech Processing, Missile Technology, EMF, Fiber Optics, Neural Networks, Digital Communications, Machine Learning & Deep Learning, IOT, etc.  and published 30 research papers in peer-reviewed International and National Journals which are SCI indexed and in International Conferences . As a Principal Investigator he obtained a grant of Rs 60 lakhs for Major Research Projects funded by DST. He is an active reviewer for an International Journal “AMSE Periodicals FRANCE – Modeling, Measurement & Control and for “IACSIT” and ICSCI.

As the Principal of the college he implemented several best practices, few of them are Performance based Appraisal System(PBAS), Establishment of collaborative labs with Industry, Setting up of Department Incubation Centre’s, Conduct of Model exhibition on ‘Innovation Day’ (Engineers Day), Promotion of R&D through up gradation of qualifications & research publications, external Academic Audit, and implementation of Industry relevant flexible curriculum leading to Outcome based Teaching-Learning, Student Development and Research. He played a key role in successful implementation in rating the college with grade ‘A’ by NAAC and accreditating NBA for all B.Tech courses and substantial improvement in campus placements.

Dr. Mallikarjuna reddy has been ratified as Principal of VVIT, by JNTU Kakinada in the year 2011 and performs following duties as Principal – Administrative Duties, R&D projects, Teaching, Exams, Campus placements and Soft skills training. He worked as Head of ECE dept., running PG and PG programs, assisting management in administrative works, Design of course curriculum, Paper setting for university exams, Coordinator for student association activities, student training programs and Industry Institute Interaction, Coordinator for Campus placements, Soft skills training and   Alumni Association. He holds the following Membership of Scientific and Professional Societies:

  • Follow of Institute of Engineers – FIE, M.No. 115694/7
  • Life Member in ISTE – MISTE LM 8015.
  • Member in IEEE

He was awarded as best teacher in 2019, 2010,2007,2005,2004 in various colleges. He is Supervisor for Guiding Ph.D students recognized by JNTU Kakinada, JNTU Hyderabad, and Rayalaseema University. He is author for 9 books in different subjects like Probability Theory and Stochastic Process, Signals and Stochastic Processes and Electromagnetic Waves and Transmission Lines. At present he is guiding scholars in emerging technologies like Medical Image Processing, Machine Learning and Deep learning
