A sensitization program on the usage of Siemens’ Centre of Excellence was held today 01-08-2018, for all AP-Engineering College Principals, by APSSDC.

The Principals of various engineering colleges across AP were addressed by Dr.B.Nageswara rao, Project Director, APSSDC -Siemens Project, Dr. Ghanta Subbarao, Special Secretary, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Department, Govt. of AP, Dr.K. Lakshmi Narayana IAS (Retd), Founder Director, APSSDC, Prof. S RamaKrishna Garu, Vice Chancellor I/C, JNTU Kakinada.

The meeting aimed at the skill development of AP students and the usage of Siemens Centre of Excellence in achieving that. Dr. B.Nageswar Rao, Project Director, APSSDC-Siemens Project, while addressing the academicians, stated that, the Siemens CoE at VVIT is on par with the global standards.  He uttered that this APSSDC founded Siemens CoE has better state-of-the-art laboratory facilities than that of many International Universities. Sri Nageswar Rao did a comparative analysis of various CoEs at Hyderabad and different places in India and explained how the Siemens CoE at VVIT was superior to all of them.

Prof Ghanta Subba Rao, Special Secretary, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Department, Govt. of AP, briefed upon the facilities at 40 different centres of excellences in India and suggested all Engineering Colleges to utilize it to its best.

Dr.K. Lakshmi Narayana IAS (Retd), Founder Director, APSSDC, emphasized that the role of teachers is major in the skill development of students and cited that the country Finland gives the highest importance to teachers. Sri Lakshmi Narayana stated that a teacher can bring revolutionary changes in the society and generations through his teachings. He urged all teaching community to be more interactive with students and yield necessary skill development in them.

Prof. S RamaKrishna Garu, Vice Chancellor I/C, JNTU Kakinada, stated that by utilizing the facilities at the APSSDC Siemens CoE, all engineering colleges can hone the skills of their students and urged all Principals to utilize meticulously.

Sri Vasireddy Vidya Sagar, Chairman of Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology informed it is a greatest privilege for the VVIT to host the APSSDC Siemen’s CoE and opined that all educational institutions will utilize it for prosperity among the student fraternity.

The chef-de-officials of APSSDC also chalked out feasibilities of providing training for the students of different engineering colleges. The team of principals visited VVIT’s APSSDC-SIEMENS-COE. The team interacted the VVIT Siemens COE lab trainers, Management members and acquired the information about the structural layout, functionality and various financial & training related aspects of COE labs, inquisitively.
   
The principals of various engineering colleges commended the efforts of Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) for establishing this world-class Siemens Centre of Excellence Laboratories. They also appreciated VVIT for its praise-worthy maintenance, to achieve its highest objectives of training the youth to make them highly skilled.
APSSDC, other Government Officials, JNTUK Vice Chancellor I/C, VVIT Chairman Sri Vidya Sagar, Secretary Sri Badari Prasad, Academic Secretary Sri M.SreeKrishna, VVIT-Principal Dr.Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy, Dean of Academics Prof. N.Kumara Swamy & Siemens Centre of Excellence SPOC Dr.Naveen Ravela were present along with all AP Engineering Colleges Principals, in this meet-up.
The officials of APSSDC also visited VIVA-the-School-by-VVIT, and gave away the prizes to students, who have shown excellent performance in their fields of interest in various events. Prof. S RamaKrishna Garu, Vice Chancellor I/C, JNTU Kakinada, gave away the prizes to students who cleared Trinity College of Music, London Certification.
