For an Orissa based Multi-National Company GoSpeedyGo, a good number of 42 meritorious students were selected for a dignified package of 4.3 Lakh per Annum.

In the recruitment drive that has been conducted on 06-02-2018 at Bhubaneswar of Orissa state in which 12 students from Mechanical, 14 from EEE, 16 from ECE department were selected. In this recruitment drive a rigorous schedule encompassed with Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal interview. Mr. Bishnu Prasad Mahapatra, Mr.Anesh Harichand HRManagers of GoSpeedyGo, steered this campus Interview. In this regard they stated that GSG, Bhubaneswar is hunting for fresh engineering graduates with good communication skills and core knowledge in engineering and got the right candidates in VVIT.

The selected students, Placement Officer Prof T.Srinivasarao and Training Officer Mr.Karayil Suresh were congratulated by Chairman Sri VasireddyVidyasagar, Secretary Sri S.Badari Prasad, Joint Secretary Sri M.Sree Krishna, Principal Dr.Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy, Dean of Academics Prof N.Kumara Swamy, heads of various departments and faculty members.

The HR official of GSG stated that they are much contented with the improved all round performance of the current batch students of VVIT over the previous batches as per their Company’s recruitment data analytics.They also expressed their happiness over the laboratories and other infrastructural facilities, besides the laudable efforts on right tuning the candidates of the Institute as apt products for their Company and the Industry as a whole.         

In this regard the placed students informed that the high level training provided by the college helped them ingetting selected by the prestigious company. They also expressed gratitude towards the management of VVIT and happiness over the efforts Training &Placement Department for motivating, preparing them to with stand and win the global competitions that are inevitable now-a-days for selection in highly paid companies.

Under the aegis of VVIT's Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC), a 1-day Design Thinking Workshop is organized today 06-02-2018, for the Venture Development Center students by the Stanford University Innovation Fellows of VVIT.

VVIT recently got the certificate of appointment to act as a Venture Development Center of International Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (i2ee), which is an initiative of Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) in partnership with Northeastern University, Boston, USA.

Around 100 student members of and faculty from various engineering colleges around the coastal districts attended this workshop to hone their skills towards innovation abilities in entrepreneurship.

Sri Krishna Nangegadda, Advisor, Northeastern University, Boston, USA, acted as a Keynote Speaker & Chief Guest for this Design Thinking Workshop. Sri Krishna, while addressing the enthusiastic audience, stated that innovation is not just a buzz word, but a most happening thing in the mind space of individuals as well as industries in this season. He suggested the students to rise up to the occasion for solving the typical bottleneck problem in the technological society that they come across day to day. Sri Krishna also commended the efforts of VVIT’s I&ED Cell and VDC for conducting this kind of events to tap the innovative abilities in the young minds by facilitating a conducive environment for them.

The Stanford University Innovation Fellows (UIFs) of VVIT took the lead in inculcating the Design Thinking Process in Entrepreneurship Development and created awareness to all the members by conducting different events such as Secret Handshake, TA-DA, Prototype Design befitting their Empathy & Ideation, an Inspirational Walk for deeper thinking. Through all the events the students were very actively participated.

Principal Dr. Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy congratulated the participants and suggested them to further work on their ideas and convert them into reality.​

With over 1300 local chapters in colleges all over India, National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is the largest non-profit organization offering online courses to students and faculty to improve the standards of technical education. NPTEL, an initiative of MHRD, Government of India in association with IISc and IITs rolls out courses designed and developed by eminent Professors online. The courses are designed to bridge the industry-institute gap and improve the teaching-learning process with outcome based education in colleges.

In the recently concluded July-December’17 semester, nearly 200 students and faculty of Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology Guntur have successfully completed various NPTEL courses. In recognition to this achievement, the local chapter of VVIT is placed among ‘TOP 100’ NPTEL local chapters of the country. During the recently held NPTEL SPOC felicitation cum awareness workshop at IIT, Madras on 25th Jan’18, Single Point of Contact (SPOC) of NPTEL Local Chapter at VVIT Prof.M.Y.Bhanumurthy received ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ and a ‘Plaque’ from distinguished Professors of IITs and the NPTEL team. The Management and Principal expressed their happiness for VVIT being conferred distinct recognition as one of the TOP 100 local chapters by NPTEL. Prof.M.Y.Bhanumurthy, SPOC said that active participation from students and staff in successfully completing the courses helped VVIT to achieve the recognition all over the country and expressed optimism that they would continue to better their performance in the days to come.
